Children’s House

Ages 3 – 6

The Children’s House classroom is a prepared environment designed for independent learning that encourages exploration of all areas. Children engage in real world activities while simultaneously building their academic foundation.

Practical Life

The Children’s House program has an emphasis on development of practical life skills. Through this work, fine motor skills are strengthened, concentration is increased, and new skills are learned. All of these activities help prepare each child for further work and real life experiences.

Connection to the Natural World

Students in the Children’s House environment gain experiences with the Natural World by interacting with and caring for classroom pets and plants. Children also have the opportunity to connect with the natural world through field trips and time outdoors at our local park.

Individual Lessons

All lessons in the Children’s House environment are given individually based on the needs of the children as individuals. Careful observation is completed daily to anticipate the preparedness of each child for new experiences.

“To assist a child we must provide him with an environment that will enable him to develop freely.”

-Maria Montessori
