Adolescent

Ages 12 – 14

The Montessori Adolescent Program focuses on fostering academic growth and self-management skills by working cooperatively throughout the day.

Group Work

A large portion of the day is spent working in groups. This encourages growth in time management, leadership skills, sharing of responsibility, and conflict resolution.

Service Learning

Service Learning is incorporated into each week of our Adolescent Program. Students take on volunteer roles throughout the community like assisting on field trips, helping to serve lunch, planning the school’s trips, or aiding younger students with their work.

Preparation for the Real World

To prepare students for the real world, our Adolescent Program focuses on public speaking, long-term projects, planning and coordinating their own trips, and running a micro-business.

“The chief symptom of adolescence is a state of expectation, a tendency towards creative work and a need for the strengthening of self-confidence.”

-Maria Montessori
